Fontea
History
As early as in the 17th century the water from the spring was being filled into glass bottles produced in glassworks in nearby Senotin. The tradition of filling bottles with Destna water survived the decline of the spa, and in the 20th century Mr J. Cech from Destna continued this tradition. He took water from the spring and used it to manufacture soft drinks. On 13 April 1902, Stanislav Reznik from Sobeslav, a retired tax officer, acquired the right to use the spring water by buying the former spa building no. 195 and associated land from Leopold Dvorak. He defended this right in a lawsuit against J. Cech in November 1907.

On 14 June, a trademark was registered at the Chamber of Commerce in Ceske Budejovice depicting the chapel of St John the Baptist overprinted with the words “Destenka Svatojanska”.

Thanks to Mr Reznik and his two sons, the spa was put back into operation and lightly carbonated water from the spring started to be bottled again. The fame of Destna water was thus not forgotten and was distributed to many satisfied customers from all around. Their satisfaction is demonstrated by the numerous letters of thanks to be found in Fontea's archives. A general practitioner from Sobeslav also sent a testimonial as to the beneficial properties of Destna water.

The end of the Rezník brothers' successful company and the destruction of the long-running efforts of the family and its co-operators came in 1950, when the company was put under state ownership by communists. Production of Destenka continued, but the significance of the name was slowly forgotten.
